The Narrow Road

Agreeing with Jesus is a NARROW road.

I warn about the trouble because Jesus wants a response. It is what God calls an "unusual plan"

***Some people hear the warning and are like "that will never happen"...wrong response:

Isaiah 28:21-22 For the LORD will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be angry as in the Valley of Gibeon— That He may do His work, His awesome work, And bring to pass His act, His unusual act. 22 Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.

***Some people hear the warning and brace for the worst...they accept a very negative fate...again, wrong response! God calls this a TERRIBLE sin!!

Isaiah 22:5-14 Oh, what a day of crushing defeat! What a day of confusion and terror brought by the Lord, the LORD of Heaven's Armies, upon the Valley of Vision! The walls of Jerusalem have been broken, and cries of death echo from the mountainsides. 6 Elamites are the archers, with their chariots and charioteers. The men of Kir hold up the shields. 7 Chariots fill your beautiful valleys, and charioteers storm your gates. 8 Judah's defenses have been stripped away. You run to the armory for your weapons. 9 You inspect the breaks in the walls of Jerusalem. You store up water in the lower pool. 10 You survey the houses and tear some down for stone to strengthen the walls. 11 Between the city walls, you build a reservoir for water from the old pool. But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago. 12 At that time the Lord, the LORD of Heaven's Armies, called you to weep and mourn. He told you to shave your heads in sorrow for your sins and to wear clothes of burlap to show your remorse. 13 But instead, you dance and play; you slaughter cattle and kill sheep. You feast on meat and drink wine. You say, "Let's feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!" 14 The LORD of Heaven's Armies has revealed this to me: "Till the day you die, you will never be forgiven for this sin." That is the judgment of the Lord, the LORD of Heaven's Armies.

***The correct response is to respond with night and day prayer as a community. To do the hard work of the simple response!!

Joel 2:11-12 The LORD is at the head of the column. He leads them with a shout. This is His mighty army, and they follow His orders. The day of the LORD is an awesome, terrible thing. Who can possibly survive? 12 That is why the LORD says, "Turn to Me now, while there is time. Give Me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.

***This is very SPECIFIC. There are literally hundreds of chapters that describe how to do this, what to expect, and when to expect it. It takes time to build it, it takes time to learn it, it takes time to believe it, but all you have to do is start to understand it...

Luke 21:34-36 "Watch out! Don't let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, 35 like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. 36 Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man."

***It is a VERY SPECIFIC kind of praying with a VERY SPECIFIC vision for why. It is the rebuilding of David's Tabernacle for end time safety:

Amos 9:9-11 "For I will give the command and will shake Israel along with the other nations as grain is shaken in a sieve, yet not one true kernel will be lost. 10 But all the sinners will die by the sword—all those who say, 'Nothing bad will happen to us.' 11 "In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls. From the ruins I will rebuild it and restore its former glory.
