God's Kindness
God made you to be kind to you.
God made you to be a target of His kindness...the breath in your lungs, and the light in your eyes...the happiness you feel, and the sorrow you overcome...these are all evidences of His continual desire to love you.
He won't force His way into your life, and He will not occupy any role but that as un-created leader, but every moment in your life He is inviting you to open your heart to His leadership so He can increase your capacity to receive His kindness. Truth requires He forever stay in the role as Father, and you forever stay in the role as child...for He certainly IS a Father before all was made, and I certainly was not. But, even as we rebel against His role as leader, He is patient and kind to correct us. His desire is for you, otherwise, He wouldn't have made you.
The devil is a liar. He accuses God of being hard and unkind in an attempt to get us to quit drawing near... Satan attempts to get us to give in to arrogance...the same arrogance Adam and Eve fell for...to get us to demand life on our own terms...to be fatherless and without a leader.
Satan's desire is that offense with the idea of being fathered by One who knows more than us would get us to step further away from the source of acceptance and love and meaning...to close our heart to the only thing that can move us close to the father...the very wind of His love. Satan's desire is that we would turn away so that the cold wind of loneliness would harden us and push us further from the One who made us simply to pour the warmth of His light on us forever.
We break the cycle of offense and pride by simply admitting that we actually are empty and frustrated without the full presence of our Father! By simply coming to terms with the fact that the truth is, in all our wandering, we never did find satisfying warmth and unconditional acceptance....we never did find real freedom...we never did find real purpose or fascination...just more of the same boring selfishness and empty loneliness...even in the throngs of people we are surrounded by.
When we open the sails of our heart to the warm wind of His love, even just a nudge forward is evidence He is real. In His mercy His love starts as a gentle breeze, moving us closer to the kingdom...closer to His blazing presence...But the more we believe...the more we ask and reach to catch more of that breeze, and open our heart to catch it, the more it becomes a mighty rushing wind and a flame of fire...
You were made to be ablaze with zeal...to be fiercely loved and to love...not trading loyalty for love as the world does, but rather receiving from the never ending well of kindness and provision and purpose...who simply made you as a place to overflow to...forever.
John 1:12-14 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
