Confusion
Bizarrely, the Bible prophesies that as the world descends into unprecedented confusion, betrayal, violence, greed, and murder many would declare that the opposite was happening!! This will happen first in the Church as false prophecy always has:
Jeremiah 23:16Thus says the LORD of hosts:
“Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you.
They make you worthless;
They speak a vision of their own heart,
Not from the mouth of the LORD.
17They continually say to those who despise Me,
‘The LORD has said, “You shall have peace” ’;
And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,
‘No evil shall come upon you.’ ”
18For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD,
And has perceived and heard His word?
Who has marked His word and heard it?
19Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD has gone forth in fury—
A violent whirlwind!
It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.
20The anger of the LORD will not turn back
Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart.
In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.
21“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran.
I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in My counsel,
And had caused My people to hear My words,
Then they would have turned them from their evil way
And from the evil of their doings.
The coming of Jesus calls for repentance, but the enemy of God's people comforts them to not repent...in the name of Jesus! Many right now are falsely saying "this is the safest, most peaceful, and most prosperous time the earth has ever witnessed!" They call the true prophets "negative". The false prophets of "peace" put iron yokes on the people rather than the wooden (easier) yoke of repentance....they lead the people into a delusion much harder to escape from:
Jeremiah 28:10Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and broke it.
11And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years.’ ” And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12Now the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
13“Go and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD: “You have broken the yokes of wood, but you have made in their place yokes of iron.”
The people of the earth have always wanted to hear peace and not have to face reality and trade their lives now for the necessary remedy of getting the earth ready to receive Jesus. The Bible is clear that war will increase all the way until Jesus returns, because there is a war being waged in the heavens! Until that war over the leadership of the earth is finally settled, the earth will not have peace, but increasing desolation...except where people respond and carve out geography of repentance, provision, and glory:
Daniel 9:26“And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
False messages of peace literally steal the possibility of peace from geographic regions, because they steal all the necessary incentive to respond. As Jesus returns, the discomfort of the intense response required will become more unpalatable for the people in the church, and then in the world. As people always have, they will turn to those who give them Bible verses and statistics to comfort themselves in lukewarmness towards Jesus.
The Bible is clear that this disconnect from reality is a prelude to delusion. When the people of earth start declaring peace in the face of unfolding judgment, sudden destruction comes. Those who know Jesus should be able to discern the Spirit of the Age. If you think peace is breaking out before the Prince of Peace returns, you are growing in delusion...you are actually yielding to the spirit of antichrist... according to the Bible:
1 Thessalonians 5:1But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.
2For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
4But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
Jesus promised in Matthew 24 that His coming would be "as in the days of Noah." He said many people would act like everything was completely normal right up until Jesus returned. Keep calm and carry on is not faithful, it's delusional and rebellious. This hour calls for a response if you actually love Jesus.
2 Peter 3:1Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder),
2that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior,
3knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
5For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
6by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.
Those who want to sleep through this hour are promised to get help to sleep. Those who want to be awake and respond to Jesus are given grace to respond. Everyone will get what they want...which makes this the most dangerous, and potentially the most glorious, hour ever! We are actually supposed to WANT Jesus to come back fully knowing Tribulation comes with Him. We aren't supposed to dull people's minds and chill them out, but rather declare His intense truths, in love. This doesn't just protect us, it makes the world ready to receive Him. The last thing the world needs is more of the same.
2 Thessalonians 2:11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
