Watching for the Return of Jesus from the Low Place
It's important to understand the humility required to watch for the return of Yeshua and still be faithful as though it were occurring. It is promised to be harder to see the nearer it becomes.
At midnight a cry goes out. Lamps are trimmed. Some believers won't have the oil necessary to see.
You have to know the time in faith not by eyesight.
This is a warning and a promise to all spirit-filled believers. All servants. This isn't a warning to "the world" and a promise to those who believe. This warning and promise is all about, and only about, those who believe, just like the parable of the 10 Bridesmaids:
Matthew 24:44-51 NKJV — “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? “Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. “Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. “But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ “and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, “the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, “and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The return of Yeshua is intentionally coming at a time it looks unlikely to come. It's coming sooner than the flesh would say. That is a warning to the church to not be lulled into the world's thinking or emotions.
2 Peter 3:1-12 NKJV — Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?
Those who will take part in the first resurrection lean into the coming of the Lord with vision that doesn't come from eye sight, doctrine, dim prophetic interpretation... Their eyesight comes from abiding in the vine. God is no respecter of man's prophetic interpretation. The more mainstream the assumption of what a prophecy means, the less likely it is accurate. No flesh will see Him coming. Only those in the Spirit.
The Spirit makes a man humble, not arrogant. Everyone will be humbled at the coming of Yeshua. The wise run into that low place now. Asserting that your dim view, or my dim view, of prophecy is correct is arrogant. The wise take the low place and know Jesus' coming will define the prophetic meaning of the passages about it, not the other way around:
Luke 14:7-11 NKJV — So He told a parable to those who were invited, when He noted how they chose the best places, saying to them: “When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him; “and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place. “But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you. “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Jesus is coming soon. That's what the Bible says. Find the low place while you have time. He just might show you something you didn't know you could see!
This is the right food at the right time:
1 Thessalonians 5:2-15 NKJV — For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
