Joel's harvest
Luke 10:2. Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
There is an amazing pattern in the Bible for agreeing with Jesus about the great harvest of souls promised to happen in the generation the Lord returns.
At the time judgment begins to be released by Jesus on the world’s last great attempt at a planned social system (the antichrist system) mankind will be forced into a choice. The antichrist will offer mankind a himself as a humanistic "messiah." He will promise to provide for and protect the flock of the Earth. He is a wolf in shepherd's clothes. Jesus promises protection for those who put their faith in him. The antichrist will look like the most logical choice, but the invisible Jesus IS the true shepherd. This is the valley of decision:
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
As this dynamic pressure to choose increases, there WILL be a great harvest and a great falling away:
II Thessalonians 2:1-3 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
This will simultaneously result in the great harvest! As the world chooses its messiah, many who "hold to the form of religion, but deny its real power" will choose man's wisdom as the need for saving power becomes more intense. A man finds out what he really believes when his faith requires a risk and the choices have real consequences. But, it is also true that those who choose to put their trust in the invisible Jesus rather than wealth, or position, or man's wisdom, will be a living witness of God's very real supernatural power. Picture the true church, purified in a time of intense pressure, walking in power similar to the book of Acts, but on a global level! This is the fullness of the "greater things than these" Jesus promised the Church:
John 14:12-14 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
There is an established pattern for the fulfilling of this promise. It is evident in Revelation 6:9 to Revelation 7:14: persecution of the Church leads to an intense increase in 24-hour worship and prayer movement, which releases the power of God in agreement with His praying Church. This brings in the great harvest as His power is seen in the pouring out of His Spirit on all of His servants. Talk about intense:
Joel 2:28-32 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord . And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.
This is what Peter and the first disciples witnessed at Pentecost : they prayed in the upper room in "one place and with one accord" and then the Spirit came like fire. It was so obvious to those outside the building , they had to explain themselves...and when they did, 3,000 got saved in one day!
This was a down payment on what we will see in full. Building the end-time House of Prayer now is the building of that upper room prayer meeting in full...if we are faithful to agree with Jesus, we WILL see the pouring out of the Spirit, which will lead to the greatest harvest of souls for Jesus the world has ever seen. This is what He came for. The night and day worship movement is His plan!:
Luke 18:7-8 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
