Zeal

I hear the Lord saying that many who have held zeal for Him are weary in this hour. He says the resistance to your zeal has worn you down. You thought, "surely those that love the Lord will not be offended by my zeal," yet day after day, the resistance has slowly worn you down. The accuser has whispered "you will not make it, your zeal will wear out before He comes." The devil is a liar. The Father wants to refresh you in your zeal today!

The Lord says "zeal for My House has consumed Me. There is no shadow of turning in Me. The zeal I held on the day I cleansed the temple has increased, not decreased. My house, and My Fathers House are YOU. I wasn't cleansing a building, I was preparing the place to express zeal, that you might see that the heart of worship IS a heart of zeal."

Psalms 69:7-9 Because for Your sake I have borne reproach; Shame has covered my face. I have become a stranger to my brothers, And an alien to my mother’s children; Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

John 2:13-17 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”

God has great zeal for you. He loves your zeal back to Him. God wants to be "equally yoked" in His relationship with you. His all is much greater than my all, but when my all meets His all, we are equally yoked!

Colossians 4:12-13 Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. For I bear him witness that he has a great zeal for you, and those who are in Laodicea, and those in Hierapolis.

If you are full of zeal for God, for His kingdom to be established on earth, and for others to know Him, then you are LIKE Jesus. Heaven agrees with zeal for God and His kingdom!

Frustration comes when you desire earth to agree with zeal as heaven does. The Lord says that to seek agreement with zeal on earth is like asking a child to appraise a valuable ring. Zeal for the Lord and for His House is one of the most valuable commodities in all of heaven and earth. If a child found a valuable diamond ring in the dust and asked the other children he was playing with what it was worth, they simply wouldn't know. They might be jealous that he found it and say it was worthless for spite, or they might mock him, saying that carrying some ring around was a waste of time when he could be playing, but they would not appreciate the true value of that valuable treasure. BUT, if the blessed boy took that ring to his parent, they would certainly appreciate the value of the treasure. They would rejoice with him and say "this ring can buy you nearly anything you would like my son!

Zeal is simply a more full measure of desire. Desire is the currency of creation, and you spend it with your words and actions. You can spend your desire on anything you would like. We were all made to desire. We all desire something. We all have zeal.

Those who have opposed you in your zeal for the Lord, also have zeal, but for something less than Jesus...to know Him and be known by Him. There is nothing greater than zeal for God. No greater object for your zeal exists, but many lesser objects of zeal are much less offensive to others. Those that oppose zeal for Jesus and what He is doing certainly have zeal for something. Maybe it is zeal for order, may be it is zeal for comfort, maybe zeal for their own greatness...to be known by the other children...but everyone carries unlimited desire in their eternal heart, by design. Your heart was made to last and desire forever! Forever your heart will desire. You get to choose what you will desire. If you have entered into zeal for God on earth, you have entered into the courts of majesty and power BEFORE you see them! Blessed are those who go in, for others will eventually follow!

Matthew 23:13 “ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

If you have chosen zeal for Jesus and His house, you are turning over the tables of your own heart to prepare a resting place for the glory of the Lord now...when the earth most needs it. Don't pull back from your zeal for God. Don't get offended with your brothers and sisters who love God but don't understand the value of the treasure you have found. Simply take that thing to your Father, and let Him rejoice with you in the value of the treasure He has given you.

Zeal for His house has consumed me, and His reproach has fallen on me!

Matthew 5:10-16 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
