Truth is a Person
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Encountering this person changes the facts, as I see them. There is a difference between facts and Truth. Seeing a fact is like witnessing a car accident from many angles. From one side I might see the car halt to a stop, from the other, I might see the fender get crushed, and from another the car might just look normal, even though an accident just took place!
You might think you know the truth about some particular happening. From my perspective, I might see something different. We might BOTH see a piece of Truth, or we might not. There is a test: does your belief of what is true draw you closer to the one who is named TRUTH or does it give you comfort to keep Him and you at the same distance? Truth is so attractive to those who truly love Him! You don't have to love Him, but if you do, even the overwhelmingly powerful...dreadful...aspects of Him are wonderous:
Revelation 1:13-18 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
If you love Truth and see Him, even the more intense aspects of Him, you cannot help but get closer to Him.
We live in Truth's garden. Truth is coming home. This world does not know Him. Because Truth is SO different than the tenants of His vineyard that are actually trying to steal it from Him, there is a violent revelation of who He is coming to the garden simply because nothing in disagreement with Him can stand in His presence. In His mercy, Truth has given MANY facts about His coming to watch for, so I might witness and declare His coming that many will receive Truth at His coming.
My experience is many don't like Truth very much yet, because they are not looking for Him to disrupt their enjoyment of His garden...they look for reasons to believe He is not coming just yet. They WANT to like Truth, but they would prefer Truth wait to make a mess...they are trying to make a nice spot for themselves in His own garden. They love the idea of Truth, its just that Truth doesn't seem very sensitive to their plans for their daughter to get married, or their son to be successful, or grandma to get right with Truth...but Truth IS coming. He is coming soon.
Everyone who loves Truth more than their own plans will be so full and satisfied at His coming. Life only gets better when Truth shows up. It is the absence of Truth that has made the world SO dark.
Truth is light, that Light is a Man, and He is coming....very soon.
John 1:1, 3-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Luke 20:9-16 Then He began to tell the people this parable: “A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time. Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty-handed. Again he sent another servant; and they beat him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also and cast him out. “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.’ But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’ So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others.” And when they heard it they said, “Certainly not!”
