Pleasing the Lord
This is the state of mind and heart that pleases the Lord:
Song of Songs 6:10 Who is she who looks forth as the morning, Fair as the moon, Clear as the sun, Awesome as an army with banners?
The one who looks forth...is clear about what is coming, sees both the darkness of the night and the power of the light...this is the one who stands in truth, and lives in the reality of heaven and His plan. She, all by herself, moves Him and to Him is "awesome as an army" that declares who He is (banners) and His strength and victory over the night and the day.
Jesus sees the Bride, but He says "who is the Bride but each one that chooses me?" Jesus sees His Bride individually. You don't "blend in"...you aren't simply part of the crowd...with Him. Every response of your heart towards Jesus moves Him powerfully. Infinite love means that there is no lack of attention and delight paid to each one member of His family.
Jesus' eyes of His heart are in HD...He sees in infinite resolution. That means Jesus delights in the small stands we make for Him. A simple prayer in His name for someone is standing more awesome than army with banners from His perspective....He sees how clearly the small stands declare your value system that He reigns. He wants you confident that every stand is a banner to the earth and to Him. He values it more than you know, because He sees it more clearly than you do....than anyone does.
This is what will overcome darkness. The more we grow in this reality...that His view of us is more powerful than what anyone else thinks...the more we connect with our true infinite identity...the person He sees and knows perfectly.
Because of simple math related to His infinite existence and ability, He is able to love you...individually...more than anyone else who has ever lived...He has no boundary of space or time...He has always loved you...without beginning...He WILL always love you...without end. He was thinking of you a trillion years ago, and had been for a trillion before that...His thoughts of you more numerous than the grains of sand at the beach...for real...by simple math, but also by strong love....
Psalms 139:1-18 O Lord , You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord , You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.
Jesus doesn't just love infinitely long...he loves infinitely strong. That means Jesus doesn't love with distraction or reservation. He doesn't have somewhere else He needs to go, or something else He needs to do. He has an infinite amount of time, attention, and capacity. He isn't waiting and watching in love until you make a mistake... he knew all of them...all of your seconds of brokenness...the blink of your life in a fallen state... before He chose to create you...
Jesus knows beginning from end and yet says "if you will love me, I will love you....if you will draw near to me, I will draw near to you. If you will simply ask me 'how far can I go?' I will take you there....just keep asking and I will keep drawing...deeper and deeper...and deeper still. If you won't quit, I won't quit."
This is what the heart was made for. Finite things...a career, a house, a person...things that do not have an infinite capacity to respond....they can never satisfy a heart that was designed to be fed in love forever. The love of God, which saturates a heart willing to settle down and be filled with it, also overflows from a person's heart to connect each member of God's family. This is the only thing that will remain, because it is the only infinite love...
God could have built His kingdom any way He wanted...He chose to make loving you and me the ONE thing all the laws and the prophets hang from!...and all you need to do is say "yes, I agree...teach me how God." If you don't quit, He won't quit.
How far can I go?
Matthew 22:36-40 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
The fact that this is what the prophets were really declaring means that all the end time realities they prophesied where really leading to this...we need to see the fairness of the moon...the night that is coming...and the clarity of the light...we need to look forward with clarity and understanding...this reality, in His eyes, is more awesome than an army with banners!
