Jesus' Preaching
This is how Jesus began His preaching:
Matthew 4:17 NKJV
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
There is no salvation without repentance. You don't repent at a conference, a concert, or a Sunday morning service. Repentance is a lifetime choice to try to live like Jesus...under His leadership and in the power of Holy Spirit. You don't do this once. If you are honest about your heart, you die to the dark parts, the parts that want to avoid trouble or offending anyone with truth, and the parts that want to go their own way daily:
I Corinthians 15:30-31 And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
We have come to the hour of human history where repentance will be the only safe mode of living anywhere. Repentance just means "agree with God." God is coming back to the garden. I guarantee you, He is not coming to occupy second place. His coming is like strong soap. If you aren't seeking His face more and more, you WILL try to hide from it when the trouble increases:
Revelation 6:12-17 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Psalms 110:5-7 The Lord is at Your right hand; He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath. He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill the places with dead bodies, He shall execute the heads of many countries. He shall drink of the brook by the wayside; Therefore He shall lift up the head.
Joel 2:10-13 The earthquakes as they advance, and the heavens tremble. The sun and moon grow dark, and the stars no longer shine. The lord is at the head of the column. He leads them with a shout. This is his mighty army, and they follow his orders. The day of the lord is an awesome, terrible thing. Who can possibly survive? That is why the lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.
We are in a lull in the intensity since the weekend. The contractions are coming closer and closer together. It is easier to settle your mind and come near to the Lord when the intensity comes down for a minute. It will go back up. That is how a delivery works: contraction, release...each one growing in strength and duration. we are just getting started. I want to turn to Him now, while there is time, with my whole heart.
It takes time to learn wholehearted turning. Learning wholeheartedness is what fills my lamp with oil. You buy the oil with your time and desire. Fill up now, before it is too late!
