Growth

Revelation 3:1“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Anything that is alive is either growing or dying. There is no static state of life.

The Holy Spirit is the breath of life. Without the Spirit breathed into Adam, he was just dirt. New life came to the believers when Jesus breathed the Spirit back upon them. Jesus paid the price that the dead could live again:

John 738“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

39But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

If I'm not growing in my experience of the new life, I am actually dying. If I am not fighting against the current of the world, which is flowing to the lake of fire, then I am floating with it.

It takes God to love God. We grow in the new life simply by desiring it with our words...our internal and verbal conversation with the author of life.

"Give me more God"

"Give me a hunger for you"

"Increase my experience of the Holy Spirit"

"Increase the Prophetic Spirit in my life"

"Make me more like Jesus"

These short verbal requests to God grow the life of Jesus in me. This is how I get all the life promised to me in the word and the prophetic promises spoken over my life. This is how I increase in my experience of what it means to be alive even as the current of death grows stronger all around me. I don't want to sleep and float downstream with simply the name of Jesus written on me....I want to swim upstream in the power of the Holy Spirit...I want to climb God's Holy Mountain with His Spirit, and not let the automatic effect of gravity pull me down.

Everyone gets what they want. The more I ask, the more I get....the less I ask, the less I will surely get...

James 4:1Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

2You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yetfn you do not have because you do not ask.

3You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

4Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

5Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

6But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,

But gives grace to the humble.”

7Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James spoke this to believers!!

What I spend my time wanting will make all the difference in the world as the Desire of the Nations returns!

Haggai 2:7‘and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.

8‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts.
