Desire

Psalm 81:12 So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart,
To walk in their own counsels.
Judgment is simply God giving people over to what they want. Judgment exposes our hidden counsels. Look at all of the sexual manipulation being exposed right now in and out of the church. This is a good example of judgment. It's just beginning. Every secret thing will be uncovered.
You can only reject His leadership for so long, then he gives a person over to the leadership they want.
Everyone will get what they want in the end. Right now, many are frustrated because they feel that God won't do what they want Him to do. What is hard to realize is many of the things we want aren't His will. Some of the things we want are His will, but we want them for the wrong reasons.
The earth is becoming more demonized because the Church is yielding to God's leadership less and less. He is giving those who should be shepherding others into humility, but refuse to humble themselves, over to themselves more and more. The darkness growing in the world right now isn't because of bad people, bad politicians, or a bad God...it is because of an increasingly arrogant and less-praying Church. The gatekeepers are leaving their posts...no wonder so much is coming in.
Jesus has a plan: He's going to let what comes in have it's way for a while. This is called judgment.
The beauty of this plan is that as many in the Church manifest the fruit of their own failed leadership, others will repent....they will literally come out of self leadership in the world into God's leadership. They will wash their robes in the middle of the worst time earth has ever seen:
Revelation 7:14And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15“Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.
16“They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
17“for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Heat, hunger, and thirst are the main attributes of judgment. You escape judgment by making peace with the judge. That is the point.
This is the point of God giving people over to themselves: That they would repent and that those who witness the increasing depravity would turn from demanding God do things their way...what they call good..and that instead, they humble themselves and call God good even though His ways aren't ours.
God isn't a charismatic leader. He doesn't buy into 'name it, claim it' theology. He calls us to faith that He is good, and that obeying Him is wise, because He does things we don't understand and is for us, even when it feels like he's against us sometimes. He made us. If His character is good, then we can trust Him, even when His choices seem less than ideal from our immature vantage point. He's a dad and we are kids.
We must learn to humble ourselves under His hand and admit that humanistic leadership has gotten us to this point.
It will get much worse in the coming months. Many Christians are quitting Jesus' leadership right now. This will exponentially multiply as God gives much of the church over to itself. Many will see this and repent and be joined to the remnant of believers that humble themselves and let God lead. That is where healing, signs, wonders, and miracles will truly be found...with those who wait on the Lord...not those who arrogantly tell Him what to do as they whip themselves into a frenzy of false faith. The Spirit of Elijah will manifest in peace and confidence to answer the frenzy of calling down false fire.
Malachi 4:4“Remember the Law of Moses, My servant,
Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel,
With the statutes and judgments.
5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
6And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
2 Thessalonians 2:1Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you,
2not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come.
3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
This is important to grasp in this hour. Jannes and Jambres counterfeited the miracles of Moses before Pharaoh for a little while...but it didn't last. Listen to this warning to the CHURCH. You live in this time:
2 Timothy 3:1But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
6For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,
7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;
9but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
10But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,

11persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
