Urgency and Patience

Overwhelming need is beginning to engulf the earth. Our awareness of the issues of our day is at an all time high because communication is increasing.

If we have an infinite source and solution, the need is not too big. But, it takes patience to wait on the Lord:

Psalm 37:1A Psalm of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. 3Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4Delight yourself also in the LORD, AndHe shall give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, AndHe shall bring it to pass. 6He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.

The point of the end times is to learn patience and faith, not to learn how to be more effective in human strength:

Revelation 14:11“And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” 12Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.13Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

Faith requires believing in something coming...patiently waiting.

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit. There isn't one drop of real patience in creation that doesn't emanate from God. Satan has no capacity for patience. He's tenacious, but cannot be patient.

Patience = waiting for the leadership of Jesus to address a need.

What the world is being herded into is impatience...urgency...fear...distrust... Faithlessness...because waiting on God to untangle the mess of the fall in voluntary love, and voluntary submission to Jesus' leadership that seems passive with discomfort, will seem evil to impatient people.

Satan will, and is, blaspheming God:

Revelation 13:6Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.

Those who wait on the Lord will be called uncaring, passive, and evil, and eventually will be killed for their 'evils' against society. They will primarily be killed by those who depart from patiently waiting on Jesus. Impatience in the church is leading to deep division of the church.

Satan will increasingly blaspheme God and those loyal to Him in patience. Blaspheming God means badmouthing His name (trusting in Jesus' name to move spiritual and physical realities), His tabernacle (the place of connecting with His leadership), and those who dwell in heaven (take their place seated in the heavenlies to do actual battle against Satan).

Ephesians 2:4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Our primary battle is not against the physical needs engulfing those around us. The physical needs are a symptom of a lack of the leadership of God. There is a curse in the earth that requires every person work all day to get enough to eat. Right now there are huge imbalances on the earth. Western culture has tilted the whole earth toward itself and heaped up resources in fear of the future, leaving other places desolate today.

Genesis 3:17Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. 18Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. 19In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

We need Jesus' leadership to untangle this mess. Jesus will rightly distribute resources if we have faith in His leadership. He is literally the only one worthy to reverse this curse of lack in the earth...to transfer the deed of the earth back to a righteous owner:

Revelation 5:1And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. 4So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.

5But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” 6And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 8Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,

And to open its seals;

For You were slain,

And have redeemed us to God by Your blood

Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

10And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” 11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12saying with a loud voice:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

To receive power and riches and wisdom,

And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

13And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

“Blessing and honor and glory and power

Be to Him who sits on the throne,

And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

We have to agree with heaven if we really want to see the needs of the earth met sustainably. That means we need to wait on this moment where heaven comes to earth and work towards it in a practical way. Because the problem is spiritual, the practical solution is also spiritual, not physical. Prayer is the practical solution to the real problem.

The prelude to enthroning the lamb over wealth and power over the nations is " Golden bowls full of incense"...this is prayer!

Prayer seems like a passive waste of time when there is urgent need that could be addressed with strength. But, this is a delusion. There isn't enough wealth to reverse the curse of the fall...it takes a miracle. Jesus is the one who will lead the earth in patience into a new time where abundance fills the earth. Will he find anyone to agree with Him about that in prayer and patience to wait?

Luke 18:6Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7“And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8“I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
