Victory

Psalm 47:1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! 2 For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. 3 He will subdue the peoples under us, And the nations under our feet.

How I approach life really matters. The attitude I face each day with REALLY matters to God. Psalm 47 states why: shout to God with a voice of Triumph, for HE is awesome.

God IS going to accomplish everything that is in His heart to accomplish. He rules over all. The victory is already decided and decisive...it was written before the foundation of the world. The Bible says your part in the victory story of God with Man...the victory story of Emmanuel...was written before the foundation of the world as well. Because of free will...because of love...you get to choose to what degree you share in the victory of Emmanuel.

God says: approach everything with the shout of the truth. Shouting with a voice of triumph over whatever I am facing today isn't like the Detroit Lions getting revved up, stirring up excitement, hoping to win before a game. No! Shouting to God with a voice of Triumph is admitting the truth: that the victory is already won. Shouting to God with a voice of triumph over my situation is truly humility, it is agreeing with God! Humility isn't pretending you could blow it at any minute...humility is recognizing what I bring to the table and what God brings to the table. I can really only bring my attitude, God truly brings everything else...including overwhelming, guaranteed, no question about it, VICTORY.

It really is the last 2 mins of the fourth quarter. We know we are going to win. Now is the time for triumphant shouting. Our brilliant and perfect coach with a 100 percent perfect record of victory is worth the confidence. Anything less would be insulting simply based on His record!

One of the things I "contend" for (ask God for) on a near-daily basis is to see the angels that are always around me. The Bible says angels surround and are assigned to us. I want to see the ones that are assigned to me. I ask God for this all the time. There are many accounts of people in the Bible seeing angels, and sometimes at the request of a person...so I ask for this. I am sure it will happen someday, but a few months ago, I received a down-payment on that prayer. While I was waking up one morning, I woke up to hearing a song. I heard it in my ears...kind of faint, like the radio playing on our alarm clock, but these were the words to the song:

"He is the Name of our name.

He is the greatest of all.

He is the Name of our name.

The King, the Lord, Jesus."

I will never forget the sound or the words. They are etched in my mind. This was a song I heard the angels singing for a few minutes one Sat morning in June 2012. The angels with me were worshiping Jesus, and telling Him that He was what they are all about! I got to hear it for a few seconds as I was waking up, but I didn't get what the words meant at the time. Psalm 47 explains what those words meant. They are even more powerful for a human who has chosen Jesus because I am His, and He is mine. He had already chosen me, and you, from before the earth was, but when I chose Him, I became His and He became mine. His name is my name, and my name is His name. Shouting to God with a voice of triumph as I approach life today is the most humble way I can demonstrate that I understand the honor of having his name!
