Serving

End time shepherds learn to stop building their own kingdom... instead, through a season of preparation, they learn to want to serve THE king. A true friend of the Groom doesn't flirt with the Bride. This is part of the forerunner calling. This training ground is painful but essential.

John 3:28-34 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’ He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

John the Baptist spent years fasting and praying in the wilderness for a public ministry that lasted about 18 months. This was the attitude he learned by God being his only audience. This made him seem very odd on earth, but great in heaven. Jesus testified to the greatness of John, and then prophesied that those filled with the Spirit could go even farther...

Matthew 11:11 “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

The greatness Jesus was talking about wasn't in drawing increasing numbers...it was in reaching deeper into the invisible kingdom to be established as a forerunner to the perfect government that will never end.

This is available to anyone who wants it. Many who seem least now seem that way because God is giving them a grace for this very reality!

God has promised that in the last generation "shepherds after His own heart"...forerunners like John the Baptist... would lead the people through a very intense time. we live in the time of the wedding, when every arrogant groomsman will be brought low, and every true friend who is looking forward to the wedding will be brought up!

Jeremiah 3:14-15 “Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord ; “for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Luke 14:8-11 “When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him; and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
