God's Heart is Non-Negotiable
In our flesh, which includes our impatience, it's difficult to watch and abide misunderstanding. Humans fear what other humans get wrong.
But, God isn't like us. He is a Father. A good parent doesn't get impatient about misunderstanding. Because they have been with their child since birth, they see a child who misunderstands coming into understanding. Children can only go from not knowing into knowing. God isn't impatient with us not knowing. He is offended with those that claim to represent Him but show the world a character and way that isn't His. Those who claim to see, but are blind, He judges.
We all started not knowing God. Not one person was born righteous.
If you really know God, then you remember the moment He first revealed Himself to you in your misunderstanding. Understanding only followed that moment. It's the only way it works.
If you can't place your finger on that moment, then you really don't know Him yet, or you have forgotten how He found you. (Don't be discouraged if this describes you. You can know Him, or reconnect to Him, by talking to Him about this and letting Him lead you forward from here. Most won't, though. Most of us would rather think of ourselves as righteous than be righteous.)
If I remember the mercy God showed to me, then I find mercy for those around me that don't yet see what I see. I still need to know God more. This truth produces humility, which tames the tongue.
This is what God is like:
Psalm 103:12-18 NKJV — As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
One of the basic tenants of the Gospel is that I will only be forgiven AS I FORGIVE. Satan is inspiring so much self righteousness in those that grow impatient with other people's misunderstanding. It's a satanic scheme to get the fleshy out of the kingdom. God has allowed Satan's sifting to remove wheat from tares. Jesus is praying for us. Are we praying the same thing He is?
Self righteousness and unforgiveness are offensive to God, who has forgiven all our sin through His son's sacrifice.
Mark 11:25-26 NKJV — “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
There is no mercy for the unmerciful, because there is no true relationship with God that doesn't manifest in love for enemies. That's what God is like. If I don't know Him, I will be rejected at His coming.
Matthew 7:20-23 NKJV — “Therefore by their fruits you will know them. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
God is looking for those that want His heart, not just His vision and values... Those who want to die to self, not win the world impatiently forcing "truth" into others. God doesn't need any of us to save anything. He is only looking for those willing to shine as "conformers to His way" which is a cross, or the death of our self will and fear, our pride, and our shame.
If we die to ourselves, it only manifests one way: love for God, which overflows to love for others, including our enemies, and that love enduring through persecution with joy.
That is the road Jesus already chose. If I want to be with Him, I must choose it, too. He won't leave the life He has already picked. To be one with Him is to pick it, as well.
We were always promised that the last days would see the failure of love in those being cast out of the kingdom. They would think they were saving the kingdom, but only because they didn't know God, and His ways.
You gotta know what He is like and be like Him or you cannot be with Him.
1 John 4:16-21 NKJV — And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
