The Cross is the Only Solution

The human mind is always trying to filter good from evil.

We were never made to do this. We were made to be in a humble relationship with a good God. It was never our place to judge whether God was doing good or evil.

Our attempt to replace God and His leadership is what has caused the myriad symptoms of rebellion in the world:

-lack, sickness, death

-emnity, inequality, division, war

-uncertainty, fear, and pain

-selfishness, greed, and hatred

And many more...

The earth has a spiritual problem. Physical solutions will never address a spiritual problem.  Because of how God made the universe, spiritual problems manifest in physical symptoms, like stress can make you physically sick, for example.

The Spiritual problem behind all the physical problems is selfishness, or self-leadership... Which inherently is the lack of God's leadership.  Because of love, God lets man ignore the simple truth that God made everything well.  That God is good.  That on our own we misunderstand good and evil, and that we are the cause of the problems and, therefore, are never the solution to the problems.

In few places, maybe no place, is this more clearly seen than here in Israel.  Trying to figure out who is good and who is evil in Israel is impossible.  Trying to figure out how to untangle the political, social, economic, and religious incongruencies is literally impossible here.

For every atrocious thing one group does, there is another atrocious thing another group has done, or will do, in response.  It's like chasing humanity's own tail.  The escalation of "terrible" always leaves somebody's flesh feeling justified to perpetrate the next terrible thing. And on and on. No. One. Has. Done. This. Well.

The next point made about the evil of the last atrocity can easily convince you the other side is righteous.  There is no righteous position here on earth without submission to God.  Atrocities are escalating... So, of course, the last one was the worst one.  The next one will be worse... More depraved.  It's a trajectory.  The knot is getting tighter the more we try to pull it apart.

This is the real tragedy: God has already untangled the mess.  The only answer that will ever stick is to become unselfish. Not everyone else. Me. You.

This is impossible for man on his own, but God made a way.  That way is the cross.

Yeshua, the seed of David, son of Mary, and Son of God took on our very flesh and lives in a way to show the way out of the mess.

-There is no political solution.

-There is no military solution.

-There is no religious solution.

-There is no conservative solution.

-There is no liberal solution.

Why?

Because all those "solutions" are aimed at someone else giving up their right to evaluate what is good (for them).  Never "us" always "them."

Jesus gave up HIS life. That is what makes Him so different.  Even though He could address all the symptoms of the spiritual problem, He, in obedience, killed the disease.  He gave up what HE THOUGHT would be good for Him, to do what the Father said was good:

Luke 22:42-43 NLT — “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him.

There is heavenly help for anyone willing to enter into Jesus' way, but it's a choice God will not make for us.  He refuses to force mankind into His idea of what is good.  Jesus shows us the way.

He is the only hope for peace, because He is the only true help for selfishness. It isn't limited to the middle east, but mark my words, it will spread out from here.

For many it doesn't make sense why the Son of God would die.  That is because we wouldn't do that if we were good.  Jesus did it because He, in faith, knew the Father was good.

Though He manifested the power to deal with every symptom of the disease of selfishness... he healed, he multiplied, he gave, he resisted earthly gain, he humbled himself, didn't parade himself, saved others... He didn't consider Himself good.

Matthew 19:17 NKJV — So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Death wasn't what He wanted, it's what He chose.  It wasn't what the Father wanted, but it's what those He made chose.  God honored that choice without ever not being good. God, including Yeshua, is selfless. He made all of creation to be selfless like Him.  We aren't. That's the problem.

The only ones who don't seem to understand the power of selflessness are the children still fighting over their own self-centered understanding of what is good (for them).

There will never be life in that.  The death is increasing and will until all that remains are the selfless.  It's not too late to repent, which means "agree with God," until it's too late.

If we all trusted God and followed Jesus into selfishness, every war would cease, lack would vanish, pain would disappear, and the earth would be made new.

It will. Will I?

Matthew 16:21-27 NKJV — From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
