The Good Guys Win?!
Life's not too hard. Its impossible for the flesh on its own. On my own, I'll surely wear out and die.
But, with the creator of my life, the impossible becomes a light burden and an easy yoke.
Matthew 11:28-30 NLT — Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
If I fight to protect my right to grow weary and die, that's what I'll get! If I give up all my self saving and rest in Yeshua's perfect work, I'll get rest. I must pick one or the other. Trying to do both is unfaithful to both.
Hot or cold is better than lukewarm.
Either I spend myself trying to live well and make something of myself, or I give myself to another, letting Him lead, guide, protect, and provide.
Either I live my life or I give it to God.
Only one way will last forever.
Man was never intended to live on His own. He was created to be filled with something supernatural... The breath of life from God Himself.
To get back to what we were made for and who God chose to create us to be, we have to learn to just be ourselves led by another.
Easier said than done. Deep underneath all my feelings, thoughts, shame, pride and fear... Is a rebellious desire to be God rather than need God. This creates a facade that is impossible to maintain. Competition where all lose. We compete against God when we fall into this delusion.
This is the prison Jesus shows us the way out of. This is why we see the greatest one laying it all down, choosing to be weak, and denying His own will in favor of the Father's, even unto death.
Follow Him and I will surely live a better life, both now and forever.
Try to save the world AND be loyal to the man who willingly lost it all and I'll just be a hypocrite like everyone else... Telling everyone else how to be righteous while deep underneath serving my own shame, pride, fear, feelings and thoughts.
God made us for something so much better than man can win, or lose, on His own. Nothing in the world needs to change for me to go all the way into God. The only thing that needs to change is what I believe is true about me and God. That one thing will change everything.
I know I am REALLY changing when I start enjoying my days without "winning the world." When my victory becomes loving enemies, blessing those who curse me, praying for those who spitefully use me.
The worldly want the "good guys to win." That is not like God. If He were like that, we'd all be dead. No, God is a Father. He wants the lost to be found. That is much different than the "good guys winning."
Most will refuse to yield to what God wants and they'll stick with hoping the good guys win, assuming they are "one of the good guys." Everyone thinks they are the ones who should win! Everyone!
Those who stay in this delusion will be utterly confused, disappointed, and ultimately left out of what God is doing with the weak, meek, and broken.
None are good. Just God. I can go ahead and let Him win! He's going to either way. If I let Him start by winning me, my life will be all it is supposed to be.
