Fully Man and Fully God

Jesus is fully man. Though He is also God, Jesus became a man to win back all of creation, which God had given to mankind at the time of creation. Jesus didn't put on an earth suit for a minute, do the work He was given to do, and then go back to being only God...no! to be fully man means to be fully man forever...but still God. Right now in heaven, at the right hand of the Father, there is a man...Jesus...on the throne.

Hebrews 2:17-18 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

Philippians 2:6-9 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges ; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,

Jesus, who is God, and was with God, who created all things, in order to make a way for mankind to be rejoined to God's leadership by the indwelling Holy Spirit...to restore what Adam lost...stepped into humanity...forever...

Jesus' 33 years on earth were the fruit of continual reliance on, and obedience to, the other two persons of the trinity: the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus never picked up His own miraculous power, instead relying on the authority given to mankind at the time of creation: to have dominion on the earth in partnership with God (Genesis 1:28). In fact, satan tried desperately to get Jesus TO pick up His miraculous power, so that He might be disqualified as Savior:

Luke 4:1-4 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

Jesus is the perfect man, leading all other men who will follow into greatness, which is obedience. Jesus only lives by every word the Father speaks...speaking every word the Father tells Him to, and the Holy Spirit responds. When the word of man agrees on earth with the word of God, the Holy Spirit creates out of nothing: healing, restoration, knowledge, love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness, self control...victory!

This is the divine pattern established throughout the Bible. This is why Jesus said with assurance:

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Many want Jesus to throw off His robe of humanity, wave His hand, and fix the world. Many dream of being supernaturally removed from every trouble, not wanting to see God's miraculous provision THROUGH the trouble, but rather desiring be kept FROM any trouble. This is CLEARY not the process God has chosen. Since He authored all of creation, GOD gets to choose how it works.

Acts 1:6-8 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

When the disciples saw Jesus in a resurrected body that could never die, they were ready for Him to take over the world. They didn't understand God had a MUCH more glorious plan in mind. God's plan included the restoration of His Family, indwelt with the Holy Spirit like Adam was at the beginning, partnering with Him to overcome the flesh and the world system to take it all back in a PROCESS! That process is clearly laid out in the Bible. It ramped up at Pentecost and it is really heating up right now!! Revelation describes the brilliant final strokes of this process!

In the midst of the trouble described in the Book of the Revelation, the Holy Spirit is poured out on everyone in agreement with God (Joel 2:28 -32). The cooperation of the Husband (Jesus) and the Bride (you and me), empowered by God through the Holy Spirit, will be a dramatic witness to the world that Jesus is the one behind all of the intense events that are hurtling towards us like a steaming locomotive. Now is the time to find out what Jesus is all about and agree with Him about His process to take over the entire world!

Revelation 11:15-18 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned. The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”
