Maturing of the Bride

Isaiah 52:8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices, With their voices they shall sing together; For they shall see eye to eye When the LORD brings back Zion.

Jesus has a plan to establish night and day worship throughout the world before His return. This sounds like an outlandish idea to many, because they have not heard it before, but the truth is, it is a very clearly developed idea throughout both the Old and the New Testaments.

The Isaiah passage above is describing the role of night and day worship in the maturing of Jesus’ Bride. Someday, the Bride, appointed as watchmen, will sing together and “see eye to eye.” This happens during the events described in the Book of Revelation. Right now, there are many things the Church does not see eye to eye on, but in one generation, that will change. I believe we are that generation.

The Bride needs to see eye to eye for a few reasons. Not the least of which is that it is one of the last things Jesus prayed for….did you hear that?! JESUS prayed for it, it MUST be pretty important:

John 17:20-21 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

When the Church decides to get serious about setting our heart to try to see eye to eye, praying and worshiping in “one accord” we are going to see power released from heaven that will blow away anything the Acts church ever saw:

Acts 2:1-4 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

3,000 got saved that day. When the power of the Holy Spirit is released through the Bride in one accord, this is how many will get saved:

Revelation 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

Revelation 7:13-14 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?" And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The one accord is going to happen in the context of night and day watchmen coming together to pray and worship for Jerusalem to be a “praise in all the earth.” This will happen when Jesus returns and establishes His political center to govern the earth there…His throne

Isaiah 62:6-7 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Now is the time fro those loyal to Jesus to “set their hearts” to contend for this reality of His Body being in one accord. We set our heart and then ask God to help us with it at the individual level, the family level, and the local body level. Teaching Biblical unity as a goal of the Church. Biblical unity means unity based on the inerrancy of the Bible, not compromising on doctrines of faith and salvation by the Blood of Jesus alone, and the primary calling of the great commission. Majoring in the majors and minoring in the minors. Where the Bible says much, we say much, where the Bible says little, we say little.

Jesus has a dramatic and BRILLIANT plan to move the divided Church into night and day worship in a time of trouble, and, as the pressure increases, to bring us closer and closer together in agreement about what Jesus is doing and what really matters until we no longer look like Presbyterians, Baptists, Catholics, Reformed, and Charismatics …but like Jesus. When that happens, the world will KNOW that the Father sent Jesus. That is what Jesus prayed for!
