Light of Mankind
God is light of mankind just as the sun is the source of life for the trees and flowers. Someday, there will be no sun, but the life-giving light will continue to shine:
Revelation 21:23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
Jesus has always been the actual source of life. There is a time coming soon where this will be plain to see. This is what the Book of Revelation is all about: God revealing to mankind that life is not possible apart from Jesus' light. Most of the planet believes they can live apart from the author of life....this is impossible....as impossible as a tree living apart from the sun. The Book of Revelation is the true story, told in advance, of how God will remove every false idea about power, truth, and life...incrementally...so that anyone who is willing to accept truth may live forever. Everyone gets what they want in the end. To choose life apart from the light of life is to actually choose death...unending barren consuming fire.
The judgments of Revelation are described as three 7-fold increases in intensity. This is what God had always promised in Leviticus 26. Revelation describes these increases...often called judgments...as "seals," "trumpets," and "bowls." Each set of increases is designed to reveal who is really the light of life: man or God?
For the last 6,000 years, God has restrained the evil in the world from overtaking His beloved creation. God HAS NOT YET let man taste the fruit of his choice to say no to a relationship with Himself, for mercy and love. Mankind, because of love, has free will. This free will, when united for evil apart from God, will engulf the entire planet with war, tragedy, and death. So far, God has significantly restrained what is really in man's heart....only letting a glimpse here or there be tasted (Nazi Germany, Rawanda, Stalin, Mao's China)...BUT, God refuses to violate free will. Eventually, everyone gets what they want. God will allow mankind to get what they want in 3 stages:
Seals: Revelation of the heart of man. Jesus lifts His hand of restraint from the last great socialist experiment that is quickly going to engulf the planet: one world currency, a thrust toward a tolerant unity of religions, a plan for global peace, all under the authority of one man who has aligned with a group of 10 nations bent on world domination through theocracy. He will get rid of three kings of these same nations in advance to smooth the way, and he will be the one who finally brings a false peace to Israel. When all looks perfect and this man looks like a human savior, Jesus will remove His hand of restraint so the world will see the evil in this man's heart. World war, famine, widespread death, persecution of Christians and forced worship of the antichrist will result...just like it has in every other great humanistic socialist experiment. These are the seals- the revelation of what is in man's heart.
Trumpets: Revelation of the heart of satan. Many will repent (agree with God) as the seals are released, but many will not. God promises to turn up the heat with the seven trumpets. The trumpet increase reveals the heart of Satan, for you either serve God who created the earth, or you serve satan, the imposter who says you can have life apart from the author of life. God will touch every part of the earth: the water, the trees, the sky, the sun...He will open heaven so that mankind can visibly see the demons stinging them...God is going to reveal the evil in satans heart to show the goodness in God's heart. Satan claims He can distribute the resources better than God, but God will show that satan can't even protect the resources, let alone dole them out. Satan's true hate for humanity will be openly seen. The gates of hell are loosed in the seven trumpets, but the Church will prevail!
Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Bowls: Revelation of the true nature of life apart from God. This is the final increase. God revealing by the withdrawing of the protection of life, that He is the one who sustains life moment by moment. This is God literally demonstrating that all the things mankind has taken for granted: the minute by minute protection of our bodies, water, provision, the light of life, the protection of our minds from strong delusion, are in place because He refuses to withdraw them, but, in one last effort to save as many as would be willing to agree with Him, God withdraws the protections He has always refused to withdraw, so that as truth is revealed mankind will repent. Spiritual darkness that can be felt is released on the earth. This only happened once before in Egypt:
Revelation 16:10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain.
Exodus 10:21-22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.” So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.
Right now God is allowing light to shine on the good and the bad:
Matthew 5:45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
For love, God has a plan to reveal that He is the only safe and solid rock...the only light of life. Government isn't safe and solid, it can't keep you alive. Pensions aren't safe and solid. My own history of comfort isn't a safe and solid guarantee for the future. There is really only one light of life.
Right now the stage is being set for the events of Revelation to take place. Globally, mankind has mostly put its trust in government systems. Riots are breaking out where government can't keep its promises. Governments are shifting and aligning in unprecedented ways. Global currencies are in a silent war with each other and will collapse, since all value has been printed right out of the system. One man is behind the uprooting of two kingdoms and working dilligently on uprooting a third one, just as prophesied. This same man is silently, but powerfully, thrusting a peace agenda through Israel.
Jesus' Bride is promised to be a faithful witness to all of the earth as her groom reveals Himself through His plan to drive evil away...just like Moses was a witness to Pharaoh.
For the Bride, there is much heart preparation to do in advance. Stripping away a reliance on the lesser forms of confidence and placing all of my confidence squarely on Jesus, by giving away my time, my money, my reputation, my anger, my bitterness, and reaching for more of the light of life...the Sermon on the Mount...is the key to flourishing in the time coming soon. Standing on the solid rock will keep me from being swept away in the flood!
Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
