The Veil
There is a veil between the supernatural spiritual realm and the physical realm. When God made Adam there was no veil. God made mankind to live face to face with God in bodies that would never die, on a perfect supernatural earth, living in the bright bright glory of God, the Three in One.
God gave Adam and Eve, and all who would come froThere is a veil between the supernatural spiritual realm and the physical realm. When God made Adam there was no veil. God made mankind to live face to face with God in bodies that would never die, on a perfect supernatural earth, living in the bright bright glory of God, the Three in One.
God gave Adam and Eve, and all who would come from them, dominion...governmental responsibility...over the earth, and free will to partner with their creator in forever expanding and developing His perfect garden. Free will is necessary for love, but it is risky. Adam and Eve exercised free will to rebel against God at the enticement of satan, who said "there is more for you if you break your agreement with God and listen to me. Rise up and be your own master."
Genesis 3:4-6 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Adam and Eve were made with supernatural qualities (actually, they were "natural." After the fall everything on this side of the veil became something less than natural). When they rebelled against God, their spirits died, and they became "less than" they were. Anything less than infinite is "infinitely less." Suddenly, their capacity to be in the presence of their bright and holy creator was less than enough, and God erected a veil between where they dwell...in the physical...and where He would dwell...in the spiritual...until all could be renewed. This is love, that God would withdraw from the fullness...the spiritual joined to the physical, in order to not harm his beloved rebels:
Genesis 3:23-24 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden (the fullness of physical joined to spiritual) to till the ground from which he was taken (only the physical). So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
When this event took place, the separation of the physical from the supernatural spiritual realm affected everything. Heaven is wherever God is, and when heaven left earth, it made earth dry and harsh...instead of the lush green garden it once was. Even the lushest rain forest, the most beautiful garden now on earth, is nothing compared to land in the presence of God. The veil blocks out the vast majority of the glory from heaven that changes things back to "very good." This is because that kind of light consumes any defiled thing. Until we are made new again, the glory of heaven would literally consume us in fire. God desires to be with us, but right now it is too dangerous for us:
Exodus 33:19-20 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”
I Timothy 6:15-16 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
There is only one thing that tears the veil: death. Everyone crosses to the other side of the veil when they die. At the time of the unjust righteous death of Jesus, not only did He pass through to the other side, He tore the veil. There was a symbol of this in the temple by the tearing of the curtain...but there was SO much more to it. He tore the real veil, and for a little while people literally saw into the other side of the veil with their physical eyes!
Matthew 27:50-54 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
People saw the spirits of dead bodies when the veil was opened. These spiritual bodies came up out of the ground and walked around Jerusalem on their way to Throne, along with thief who was promised paradise that very day, and people with natural bodies saw it! Death opens the veil.
To this day, death opens the veil. BUT, you don't have to wait for your physical body to die to begin dying to yourself and opening the veil more and more! Dying to yourself..taking up your cross and following Jesus...reaching for more and more holiness...obedience...with your words and choices...this is the process of dying a righteous death to yourself and the world:
Mark 8:34 Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.
You were made righteous on the day you accepted Jesus. Your spirit was completely renovated and the Holy Spirit entered in. Now, there is still awaiting the renovation of your heart and your body. Dying to yourself renovates your heart by letting the light of glory from the other side of the veil touch it. Where this light touches, supernatural qualities begin growing again, this is how heaven touches earth...just like God called man with Him in the garden "very good." When heaven begins growing in your heart, it can't help but spill out into the world...increasing righteousness, love, servanthood...which produces unity in those all contending to abide in Jesus....which God answers by commanding the blessing of His Spirit in tangible ways:
Death reaps the harvest of the Spirit:
Galatians 6:8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
Drinking in this harvest increases unity:
I Corinthians 12:13-14, 18 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
Unity moves God to command the blessing:
Psalms 133:1-3 How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.
This is the story of the Bride in Revelation. As pressure increases, the Bride will respond to Jesus call to the seven Churches. The Sermon on the Mount...the roadmap to dying to yourself...will be the main focus of the Bride...resisting offense, generosity, a continual prayer life, acts of selflessness...laying down rights...this will produce a unity in the Bride that will move the Father to command the blessing...the pouring out of His Spirit on all flesh, and the removing of the veil. Her righteous living death will actually bring the supernatural to earth. A prophetic spirit is going to a level you cannot imagine, heaven will be touching earth in healings and multiplication of food, walking on water...the greater things.
But we don't have to wait for the pressure to increase to reach for the Sermon on the Mount. Those who choose to be forerunners to this will find out what David found out...God vindicates...demonstrates openly...those in agreement with Him by His presence. Supernatural life will surround those who begin their death intentionally now. The release of heaven in greater measures is in response to our death...obedience...that is what tears the veil to let the Spirit shine more glory on the garden of our hearts!
