Salvation Requires Turning

To be saved, we have to turn from our wicked ways. There is no salvation without this turning.

2 Corinthians 3:16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

When we turn to the Lord and admit our own righteousness is not enough, then He takes away the veil from our eyes. We see, not only is our righteousness not enough, but that His is more than enough to make us righteous.

This, when met with a humble and repentant heart, creates a mourning in our soul to be like the One who is life. When we mourn this lack.... This difference between Jesus and ourselves, He comforts us by making us more like Him. The more we become like Him, the more we see how unlike Him we are... This, over time, causes us to cease striving to be outwardly righteous, and convicts us of our utter need to be inwardly changed.

This is the only salvation process there is. This is what following Jesus means: to be sanctified, by Him, as we see our utter need and mourn it as a lifestyle. This is actually where joy is born.

Right now, there is a false gospel throughout the globe that tells us God wants to preserve us in our wickedness.... That simply saying 'Jesus is Lord' is all that is required, while still refusing to give Him lordship of our behavior, thoughts emotions, and will. This false gospel is a lie.

Jesus requires truth in the inward man.

Psalm 51:6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

You will never come to this truth on the fly, blowing Jesus kisses as you live your own life. You will only ever come to this inward truth as you take time to gaze at who Jesus is, see the difference between your own life and His, and mourn it, knowing He will change you in to what He requires to live with Him forever.

Revelation 21:6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7 “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

God does not require perfect execution on the part of man, He requires a complete embrace of the truth of our need that actually begins to change who we are, and for us to not quit this process. That is salvation.

Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
