Road Map
How many times have I said to God "I'm not sure what to do next!" Only to hear Him say "trust me." He says "trust me" so often to me I start to wonder if it is just my imagination ...thankfully, I have seen His hand move my situation enough times to know it IS Him, and this IS His way.
Psalm 37 is a road map for those who aren't sure what the next step is. If you are genuinely interested in obeying God, but the enemy has been stirring up doubt and confusion in your heart, Psalm 37:3-8 was written just for you, and just for now! Here it is:
Psalm 37: 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm.
Two times God says "trust in the Lord"
Two times He says "do not fret (worry)"
Once He says "do good.". This means help someone else, or look for people to pray for, it will make YOU feel better about YOUR situation.
Dwell in the land- keep living. Step by step, breath by breath...but don't JUST live...each bite, each breath, each smile, each beautiful sunset...appreciate it, feed on how faithful He is. Everything is going to be just fine...great even!
Delight yourself in God- if you feel like you are going nowhere fast, then you are looking for success in the wrong direction. Press in to God. Ask Him to show you delightful things about Jesus, and the Father...ask the Holy Spirit to let you feel Him resting on your heart. God loves to answer these prayers. Let coming close to God be the measure of your success, or progress. That is all you are really responsible for. Seek Him first and ALL THE REST will be added unto you.
Commit your way to the Lord-set your heart to stay in this mode. The promise?: HE will bring it to pass...If you commit to this way, He takes responsibility for the outcome.
Rest in Him-who is this Father of ours who says "Rest. I'm worried about how much you worry. I've got this. My record is 100% success!" He is so faithful and kind!
Cease from anger- don't let your frustration drive you. Tell the spirits of anger and frustration to go in Jesus' name, and thank the Holy Spirit for the peace and faithfulness (faith) already available to you, through Him, in perfect measure. All the faith you need for this is already inside you through the presence of the Holy Spirit if you belong to Jesus. Thank the Holy Spirit for it. Talk to Him and you will feel the power of it.
If I will really go after this mode of living, nothing can hinder my success in what God is calling me to!
