Great Trouble

Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

There is great trouble in the land. All over the earth the temperature is rising. The heat is being turned up by God in order to move hearts one way or the other. This will continue until the entire earth has decided whom they will serve: invisible Jesus or the "man with the plan"...the antichrist. God...right now...desires to build walls around geographic areas that desire what he desires. He will only give people what they want, though. He won't force anyone to agree with him in His desire.

This intense situation forces a choice: do I believe God is the one most able to carry me, or do I need a more tangible plan to trust in? This is called the "valley of decision" and this valley is going to get narrower and narrower until the day Jesus splits the sky and returns to begin taking physical possession of His earth. God is funneling the entire earth into this proverbial valley:

Joel 3:12-14 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the winepress is full, The vats overflow— For their wickedness is great.” Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

The "valley of Jehoshaphat" is the valley of decision. God is so brilliant in His sense of irony and His word play. There is no greater story teller. Jehoshaphat had an incredible war story that is connected to this idea. Jehoshaphat is the one who God told to do this when he went to war against several armies:

II Chronicles 20:2-3 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar” (which is En Gedi). And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord , and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

II Chronicles 20:15-17 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord , who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”

II Chronicles 20:20-25 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord , and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord , For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.

There is a great time of trouble coming on the land. It is coming here. Right now God is setting the worshipers in place to build walls around geographic areas. He will only do this where the people come together and make this THEIR strength. He is looking for those who will build the wall. He's got the bricks and strength, all He needs is my desire for His plan. To desire His plan, you have to know His plan.

This IS the valley of decision we see steaming toward us like a freight train. The choices are a) pretend it isn't happening and get run over by the train b) store up guns, ammo and food and get run over by the train, or c) agree with God that he is your strength, build the Tabernacle of David...the worship army of Jehoshaphat...in your city and see the train literally come apart at the sound of your city's worship as it attempts to run you over!

I pick c. I am going to make the Lord my strength. This is what the entire Bible points to. Worship is the weapon of my warfare. I will not pick up a new gun, but I will press in to see that new songs rise up out of my city. Then I will not be ashamed in the time of trouble. I will see the enemy defeat himself in confusion at the sound of Jesus' Bride!

II Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
Psalms 37:5-19 Commit your way to the Lord , Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord , and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord , They shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken. A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the Lord upholds the righteous. The Lord knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
