The Return of the Lord

These passages are all regarding the end times... the return of the Lord. Do you see a theme?

Jeremiah 5:12-14 They have lied about the Lord , And said, “ It is not He. Neither will evil come upon us, Nor shall we see sword or famine. And the prophets become wind, For the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them.” Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.

Here, Jeremiah is told the smooth speaking prophets (you can interchange here "prophet" "shepherd" or "teacher" as Jeremiah is told the are the same)...those who say no trouble is coming, have turned the people into fire wood and their own words will produce the fire that consumes the peoples. This is speaking of the intense offense the people will feel when the trouble that everyone kept saying wouldn't touch people actually does touch them. Our words are powerful to warn or to soothe. To soothe at a time when God is warning is high treason against his beloved.

Amos 9:9-11 “For surely I will command, And will sift the house of Israel among all nations, As grain is sifted in a sieve; Yet not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground. All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, Who say, ‘The calamity shall not overtake nor confront us.’ “On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old;

These two ideas are connected: accepting the trouble and doing something about it causes people to build night and day worship with zeal...because the safety of their location ACTUALLY depends on it...those who say "no calamity will overtake us" rob the community of zeal to build the HOP. It just becomes another thing the church is doing. Rebuilding the Tabernacle of David IS Jesus' plan to protect cities from the trouble HE is stirring up. THIS IS HIS PLAN!

Isaiah 65:11-14 “But you are those who forsake the Lord , Who forget My holy mountain, Who prepare a table for Gad, And who furnish a drink offering for Meni. Therefore I will number you for the sword, And you shall all bow down to the slaughter; Because, when I called, you did not answer; When I spoke, you did not hear, But did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.” Therefore thus says the Lord God : “Behold, My servants shall eat, But you shall be hungry; Behold, My servants shall drink, But you shall be thirsty; Behold, My servants shall rejoice, But you shall be ashamed; Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, And wail for grief of spirit.

Here, Isaiah is told that to take this time casually...to take Jesus' desire to establish His government in Jerusalem with a "we'll see what happens" approach is the same as worshiping "Gad and Meni" these were the pagan gods of "luck" and "fate." "It will all work out" "no one could know what will happen"...these are the refrains of those God says leave it all to fate. They won't build the tabernacle, and instead of singing through this time, they WILL mourn and wail in grief and sorrow.

Joel 2:11-18 The Lord gives voice before His army (this is the antichrist army...the Lord is allowing him to sift the nations like a sieve), For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it? (This is the question: who could endure this intense time)

(This is the answer to the question: those who consecrate...set apart...time to draw together in one accord and cry out to the Lord. This is the end time worship movement):

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord , “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him— A grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God? Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord , Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord , And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ” Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, And pity His people.

There is great trouble coming...a storm. There is a clear prescription in the Bible for anyone who wants to flourish in the storm rather than be pummeled by it. It is the strangest idea, but it IS what the Bible says: build the Tabernacle of David (night and day worship and prayer...crying out to God) and sing your way through the coming storm...not just as another thing the church does, but as THE thing Jesus intends to use to make a difference between His people and those rebelling against his plans. To pretend no trouble is coming is the worst thing to do!

Luke 18:7-8 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Isaiah 30:32 As the Lord strikes them again and again, his people will keep time with the music of drums and harps. God himself will fight against the Assyrians (end time Harlot Babylon).

Jeremiah 23:17-26 To the people who refuse to listen to what I have said, they keep saying that all will go well with them. And they tell everyone who is stubborn that disaster will never touch them.” I said, “None of these prophets has ever known the Lord's secret thoughts. None of them has ever heard or understood his message, or ever listened or paid attention to what he said. His anger is a storm, a furious wind that will rage over the heads of the wicked, and it will not end until he has done everything he intends to do. In days to come his people will understand this clearly.” The Lord said, “I did not send these prophets, but even so they went. I did not give them any message, but still they spoke in my name. If they had known my secret thoughts, then they could have proclaimed my message to my people and could have made them give up the evil lives they live and the wicked things they do. “I am a God who is everywhere and not in one place only. No one can hide where I cannot see them. Do you not know that I am everywhere in heaven and on earth? I know what those prophets have said who speak lies in my name and claim that I have given them my messages in their dreams. How much longer will those prophets mislead my people with the lies they have invented?
