Jesus has a clear and knowable plan to bring His kingdom to earth. He told it to His disciples and apostles and then told them to "be ready." You can't be ready for something that is a theoretical debate...you can only get ready for something if you know what to be ready for! Right now, Jesus is ready. He is sending His servants out to get the guests ready, but because so few know what to be ready for, and they are more interested in life here and now...in a dying world...the Bible says many will refuse to receive it, and actually will mistreat those sent to get them ready:
Matthew 22:4-6 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them.
If you are ready, you would know it. I know when I am ready to undertake something. I make space in my time, I make sure I have the right understanding of the cost, I make sure I have laid up the right materials...if you don't know the plan, how can you be ready!!?? How can you know what to watch for?
Matthew 25:10-12 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were READY went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also be READY, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Mark 13:33 Take HEED, WATCH and PRAY; for you do not know when the time is.
Every time Jesus spoke of His return, He spoke of watching and/or being ready. You can't watch if you don't know what to watch for, and you can't be ready, if you don't know what to be ready for.
I want to be as clear with myself as possible on this: there are many...most...teachers who are NOT clear on Jesus' plan to return. No one has all the details just right, and the exact details will unfold over time, but Revelation is NOT theological debate material. It is a clear, ordered, and easily knowable plan. If a teacher says "no one knows for sure" it is only because THEY don't know for sure. You CAN easily know for sure what Jesus' plan is and watch for it and get ready. His disciples were clear on His plan. Jesus said this directly to John when He gave Him the Revelation:
Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
I know Jesus' clear plan to return. I don't say this to be arrogant, but to be a witness that if I, and untrained "guy" can know it, anyone can know it, if they want to. It isn't symbolic or complex. It is plain, simple straightforward, and SUPER intense. Teachers make it symbolic and cryptic to explain away the intensity of it. Many of Jesus' teachers are ashamed of how intense His plan is. He is NOT ashamed of it. He is unapologetic about what He is releasing, because He is more powerful than the intensity. He is not afraid those who know Him might not endure. Everyone who gets ready is ASSURED victory!
Once you know Jesus' brilliant and intense plan, it will consume your whole life. If it hasn't consumed your life living in this generation, you either a) don't know the plan, or b) you care less about Jesus' plan than you do about your agenda.
The disciples and the apostles knew the plan and gave their whole lives to it. They all testified similarly to John either in word, deed, or both:
I John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
John made this wild statement...then Jesus "took Him up" and gave Him the Revelation. He didn't correct John and say "buddy, you are early and don't quite know my plan!" No! He said "yes, John. Get them ready, here are the details of the plan to tell them."
John wasn't mistaken. He knew exactly what to look for and exactly what to do. He saw persecution...tribulation...all around him (most of his companions were martyred), yet He saw the Church growing leaps and bounds. He saw the believers living together daily and praying night and day, joyful under persecution and giving everything they had to the cause of Jesus' soon coming kingdom. This IS the plan. It is MUCH more detailed than this, but this is the gist of it: a Bride growing in spotless agreement with Jesus, bringing in the harvest in the midst of great tribulation. There is no place in the Bible that describes Jesus' plan that doesn't describe all of those elements, yet "theologians" will debate those very points endlessly.
The speculation is a RUSE! it is a "red herring" designed to keep the Bride from getting ready. Jesus said that great "offense" is coming. By symbolizing, speculating, debating whether or not something offensive is going to happen, many teachers are inadvertently keeping MANY from actually getting ready in the VERY specific way the Bible describes. Jesus has a specific action plan for each geographic location that wants to agree with Him. Right now is the time to undertake that very specific plan, but most have no idea what it is! Jesus has certain messages that will connect His Bride to His plans that will release Her to be like those first apostles...fully given to His brilliant plan. But, just like the Pharisees, many of his teachers won't go in themselves and see the heart of the message, and therefore inadvertently prevent others from entering in, as well.
Matthew 23:13“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in."
Speaking privately to His disciples, Jesus warned them that what He was going to allow would be so intense, that MANY would be offended and fall away. If you know Jesus' plan, you know executing this plan...taking possession of everything that is His in partnership with a Bride ready to stand in the offensive intensity... is His greatest desire!
Luke 12:49-53 “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
Matthew 24:3, 9-13 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him PRIVATELY, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” ....“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Endurance to the end requires preparation in advance...watching and praying and getting hearts ready. Those who choose to go after this will be rewarded forever.
Daniel 12:1-3 “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.
