End Time Babylon (pt 4)

There is an old plan in the Bible for judgment. The Book of revelation is really the prophetic description of the fulfillment of the promise of God to judge from the beginning of the covenant with Moses. The laws of the covenant are mostly described in the book of Leviticus. Leviticus 26 has the complete program of judgment outlined in Revelation:

Leviticus 26:3-12 tell of what a geographic region can expect if they choose to “live in covenant with God”, as a community. Vs. 14-40 summarize the judgments that are prophesied in the Book of Revelation. This chapter of Leviticus tells us the “why” behind the judgments in Revelation: to turn hearts to God. God wants no one to die:

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

This is what Leviticus 26 describes…the promise of God to increase the heat of punishment to turn people back to Him before it is too late. God is the author of life. Because of free will…because of love…the Author of Life doesn’t demand that those given life live it in His presence. BUT, this is the BIG problem with free will: if you choose to live life outside of His presence, life is not possible...instead, what you get is unending barren fire…the absence of life. Life is not possible apart from the author of life…but because of free will, everyone gets what they want. If you want to attempt to live apart from the source of life, you are free to…but what you get is death. God is unwilling that anyone would choose death, but for love, He refuses to violate free will. SO, Leviticus 26…and the Book of revelation…are God’s brilliant plan to use the least intense means necessary to reach the greatest number of people at the deepest heart level…all without ever violating free will!!

Birth Pains of Revelation and Matthew 24:

Leviticus 26:14-18 "However, if you do not listen to Me or obey all these commands, (15) and if you break My covenant by rejecting My decrees, treating My regulations with contempt, and refusing to obey My commands, (16) I will punish you. I will bring sudden terrors upon you—wasting diseases and burning fevers that will cause your eyes to fail and your life to ebb away. You will plant your crops in vain because your enemies will eat them. (17) I will turn against you, and you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will run even when no one is chasing you!

And then a sevenfold increase in intensity for those who will not choose life (SEVEN SEALS):

(18) "And if, in spite of all this, you still disobey Me, I will punish you seven times over for your sins.

The chapter goes on to describe the progressive increases (SEVEN TRUMPETS):

Leviticus 26:21 "If even then you remain hostile toward Me and refuse to obey Me, I will inflict disaster on you seven times over for your sins.

And, finally, the wrath of God (SEVEN BOWLS):

Leviticus 26:27-28 "If in spite of all this you still refuse to listen and still remain hostile toward Me, (28) then I will give full vent to My hostility. I Myself will punish you seven times over for your sins.

God has a well written plan to turn as many hearts to Himself as possible. We are literally witnessing the initial stages of His plan right now. It is going to dramatically increase in the coming months and years. No one knows the day or hour, but the generation that sees these events is supposed to know it and respond. There is MUCH to do:

Matthew 24:32-34 "Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. (33) In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know His return is very near, right at the door. (34) I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place.

Jesus’ plan is to give the earth a witness of His love in the middle of the trouble. The witness is the pure and spotless Bride….His Body, the Church, walking in victorious love throughout all the events of Leviticus 26/Revelation. The Bride is God’s partner in the release of judgment. In fact, she will pray for the release and withdraw of the judgments, just like Moses did in Egypt. God partners with people in the ruling of the earth, because He has given mankind dominion over the earth. God refuses to violate that arrangement. When God gives something, HE REALLY GIVES IT!

Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and GOVERN it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground."

Exodus 4:11-12 Then the LORD asked Moses, "Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? (12) Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say."

Exodus 7:19-20 Then the LORD said to Moses: "Tell Aaron, 'Take your staff and raise your hand over the waters of Egypt—all its rivers, canals, ponds, and all the reservoirs. Turn all the water to blood. Everywhere in Egypt the water will turn to blood, even the water stored in wooden bowls and stone pots.'" (20) So Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD commanded them. As Pharaoh and all of his officials watched, Aaron raised his staff and struck the water of the Nile. Suddenly, the whole river turned to blood!

Exodus 8:8-9 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and begged, "Plead with the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people. I will let your people go, so they can offer sacrifices to the LORD." (9) "You set the time!" Moses replied. "Tell me when you want me to pray for you, your officials, and your people. Then you and your houses will be rid of the frogs. They will remain only in the Nile River."

Moses released and withdrew the plagues in agreement with God. The Bride will do the same thing in the time of Revelation:

Revelation 8:2-3 I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets. (3) Then another angel with a gold incense burner came and stood at the altar. And a great amount of incense was given to him to mix with the prayers of God's people as an offering on the gold altar before the throne.

The prayers of God’s people night and day will release the Judgment of the seven trumpets…just like Moses. God has a plan to have His people live together in geographic cities of refuge centered on a night and day worship and prayer movement! This was the promise given: that he would raise up David’s night and day tabernacle…night and day worship and prayer…to establish covenant cities…just like in Leviticus 26:3-12:

Amos 9:10-11 But all the sinners will die by the sword—all those who say, 'Nothing bad will happen to us.' (11) "In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls. From the ruins I will rebuild it and restore its former glory.

David’s tabernacle brought such agreement between heaven and earth…covenant living, that by the time Solomon took over, the entire land was blessed:

2 Chronicles 1:15 The king made silver and gold as plentiful in Jerusalem as stone. And valuable cedar timber was as common as the sycamore-fig trees that grow in the foothills of Judah.

This is the same promise in Leviticus 26:

Leviticus 26:3-12 "If you follow My decrees and are careful to obey My commands, (4) I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. (5) Your threshing season will overlap with the grape harvest, and your grape harvest will overlap with the season of planting grain. You will eat your fill and live securely in your own land. (6) "I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will rid the land of wild animals and keep your enemies out of your land. (7) In fact, you will chase down your enemies and slaughter them with your swords. (8) Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand! All your enemies will fall beneath your sword. (9) "I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiplying your people. And I will fulfill My covenant with you. (10) You will have such a surplus of crops that you will need to clear out the old grain to make room for the new harvest! (11) I will live among you, and I will not despise you. (12) I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be My people.

God’s presence…God walking among His people…an “open heaven”…will be the fruit of covenant living in the time of the fullness of Leviticus 26/Revelation!
