Well

When a well driller installs a well, they drill down deep into a water bearing layer of soil, and they set a screen at the bottom. The screen allows water to flow into the well, and is supposed to keep back the dirt. No one wants to drink mud!

Once the screen is installed, the driller has to "develop" the well. All the parts are in place, but on their own, they will do a less than ideal job keeping sand out of the water. An improperly developed well will let sand right into your glass. To develop a well, the driller actually adds water to the well, they then "surge" the water back and forth. The in and out action on the screen locks the grains of sand on the outside of the screen. This makes natural barrier outside of the screen that filters out the fine particles. A properly developed well yields more pure water.

Jesus said you are a well:

John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

When you were saved, you became a well of living water...all the parts are in place for you to gush life giving insight, love, humility, generosity, forgiveness, obedience, sacrifice, joy, and the release of creation power with your words and actions in agreement with heaven. BUT, like any well, you have the choice to properly develop yourself, or flow mud!

We develop the well of our heart the same way the driller does. A well can't develop itself...it needs the help of the driller...its creator, and You don't have the discipline within you to flow pure, either. It takes God to develop the well...it takes Him adding living water, and surging you with it, and sure enough, as that action of holy meeting unholy works your heart, purity begins to flow...cleaner and cleaner...purer and purer

If we want to grow in purity we must let God have access to our heart several times a day...intentionally setting aside 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 5 minutes...to reach for Him with our words. Because of love...becuase of free will... God will not develop your heart without permission.

We ask God for more of the living water to touch our heart. We ask Him to search us, show us our poverty... the differences between us and Jesus, and the MOURN the difference...we cry out "I want to be more like you Jesus", "I want to forgive like Jesus" ,"I want to resist offense like Jesus" , "I want to be generous like Jesus, laying it all down for love."...and so much more...

The Bible says that when we look upon Jesus...really ask God to fascinate us with His Son...turn our imagination to Him fueled by the Word...reach with our words for a glimpse at who He is, and open our hearts to becoming more like Him by choosing our words to express it, we become more like Him...surge by surge...He adds more living water and surges it through our well...

II Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Matthew 5:3-10

Step 1: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Step 2: Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

Step 3: Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
